Opening Reception

Filmmaker and photographer Jacob Rosenberg unveils EPICENTER, a landmark exhibition presented by adidas Skateboarding, hosted by GCS Agency, chronicling the birth of modern street skateboarding at San Francisco’s iconic Embarcadero Plaza. Co-curated by Ted Barrow, PhD, Docomomo Northern California chapter board member.

The culture born at EMB changed skateboarding forever. Now, as the Embarcadero Plaza faces redevelopment slated for early next year, the physical history of this movement is at risk of being erased. The timing for this exhibition couldn't be more relevant. Bringing the plaza energy back to downtown SF with photos, videos, listening stations, and the highly anticipated release of Rosenberg’s eponymous new book, EPICENTER.
