70s Turn 50 | Virtual Tour of Northern California

Recording of our 2020 Tour Day event - 70s Turn 50 Northern California Virtual Tour. Can you believe it—the 1970s are now 50 years old! Our team has been hard at work locating, researching, and photographing buildings, sites, and landscapes of the '70s throughout Northern California in order to understand and appreciate this strange decade in American architecture. In this 1-hour virtual tour, we explore the various trends in architectural design in this decade and visit 5 unique examples of 70s architecture in Northern California — the Hilton Hotel in San Francisco, Larkspur Ferry Terminal, the Mentzer House at Sea Ranch, Kresge College at UC Santa Cruz, and the UCSF Cesar Chavez Student Center.
